Auto Reset Target - By Nazzareno Scorfna.

Above you are seeing in video the functionality of this project as designed and manufactured by Nazzareno Scorfna.


Nazzareno created this automatic auto reset knock down entirely from scrap metal and recycled automotive parts. It is simple by yet effective and very handy for those who do not dare to pull the reset cord. Hence the target is nicknamed the LASYMAN's KNOCKDOWN

MAAC Benchrest - 25th April 2010 - Resutls.

As planned a BR event was conducted today Sunday 25th April 2010 at the VSR tal- Handaq.
Two classes were performed today as there was a slight change in the program.
1. Two Cards* for PCP open classs ( both <15ftlbs>15ftlbs ) @ 25 meters.
2. Springer Class 1 card* @ 15 meters.*Each card carries a maximum of 250 - 25X points.


Windconditions were as follows. 9 to 10 knots variation fro W to NNW.
In the PCP Open class the top 3 shooters had the following scores. ( 500 - 25X Max)
1st David Giardina with 472 - 10X
2nd Stanley Shaw with 447 - 3X
3rd Wayne Galea with 444 - 3X
In the Spring BR class the top 3 shooters were the following. (250-25X Max)
1st Stanley Shaw 234 - 4X
2nd David Giardina 218 - 3X
3rd Rene Scorfna 217 - 1X

The Open Class the top X shooters were also awarded.
1st Top X David Giardina 10x
2nd Top X Nazzareno Scorfna 7x
3rd Top X Ray Scerri 6x

Sunday 24th April 2010

Next Sunday MAAC will organize BR Competition at VSR.
Competition is open to all TS-B licensed Shooters.
1 ERABSF Card 25 scoring targets.

Time Starting 8.30am

Classes:

PCP under 15ftlbs @ 25 Meters
PCP over 15ftbls @ 25 Meters
Spring Class @ 15 Meters

Entry Euro 6 and Euro 2 for each extra class.

MAAC FT Open Sunday 18th April 2010 - Results.

FT open was held yesterday at VSR as usual high winds prevailed. During this event any air rifle irrespective of power or type will participate in one category in a 60 shot event. Targets are at ranges between 10 and 50 meters. The Hit Zones vary from 10, 15, 25 and 40mm.

MAAC PAINTBALL - ACTIVITY

MAAC will organize the next paintball event on Saturday 24th April 2010 @ 9.00am
This will take place the the EXTREME PAINTBALL FIELD at Ta'Qali

If you are a member of MAAC and would like to join us in this activity simply contact Paul Castagna (79410076) or me (Stanley) on 99406506 as soon as possible. Places are limited to 20 persons (1st come 1st served).

YOU do not need to own your equipment to join us. EXTREME PAINTBALL WILL SUPPLY YOU with all your needs for the games. Any MAAC member who owns his own marker equipment and wish to use it must be licensed TS-B and the marker registered. Markers must be set and chronograph ed at 280 fts (+/- 10ft/s) as per MAAC club policy and safety regulations.

Prices is Euro 28 which will be collected upon confirmation of attendance.

You will get the following.
All Safety Gear - Paintball mask/goggles - Neck Protector - Chest Protector.
Over all
Marker - CO2
250 Paint balls
5 Games
(All you need to bring with you RECOMMENDED is a pair of gloves and wear strong shoes or boots.)

Extra Paint balls can be bought at Euro 3 for 50 or Euro 10 for 100 Paint balls.

Those MAAC members who own their markers and wish to use it will get a Euro 3 discount.
(Note only Paint balls supplied by EXTREME PAINTBALL Field are allowed on the field.)

Malta Field Target Nationals.- 8th & 9th May 2010.

Dear FT shooters,

The climax of this years FT competitions is now very near. On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th May 2010, MAAC will organise for the 1st time the Malta Field Target Nationals 2010.
This is not the usual FT Open Competition I can personally assure you. This competition is base on two full days of shooting, were by our shooters will be experiencing the type of shooting that one will encounter during the WFTF Worlds. This competition requires not just preparation of which I know most of you made huge sacrifices to improve your skills and equipment but also need serious commitment from all club members irrespective of competing or not. The exact details will be issued soon as next Monday 12th April 2010 the MAAC committee will meet and discuss and conclude the set up of this event and also the set up of the Bench Rest Nationals coming soon after this event.

We must stress the following statement.
This competition is called Malta FT Nationals meaning that any shooter from any club in Malta is invited to participate in these events. MAAC is the governing body for WFTF in Malta and this is our commitment to WFTF to lead by example, irrespective of any ideas that might pop up from our decision. We took WFTF representation to make available this discipline to all those who want to practice it seriously irrespective of being a member of MAAC or not. Of course it is more then logic that MAAC will take care of its members that will always be the case.

These Nationals will rank and qualify the participants. During 3 days of shooting each competitor in both classes PCP (12ftlbs) and Springer (12ftlbs) must engage a total of 180 knock down targets according to WFTF Core rules. A minimum average score point system will be calculated to yield out the best shooters that can represent Malta in this years WFTF 2010 Worlds in Hungary. MAAC is trying to reach out for aid to assist as much as possible shooters members of MAAC who qualify to represent Malta in Hungary. However MAAC is sponsoring the two shooter in PCP and the top shooter in Spring with a free Air Ticket to Hungary as prise for this event.

We understand that not all members are interested in competition but I suggest to all of you to give try even for fun. I understand also that many of you have been preparing yourself for this event in terms of skills and equipment and this is the time to reach your goal. For those members who are not interested to compete for various reasons or other have other interests in the club, MAAC would like them to give out a helping hand in the organization of this event.
We require help for the success and fairness of this event. Anyone who would like to join the activity crew please let me know ASAP , I wish to see some new faces.

With regards to the competitors i stressed on the commitment to participate in this event. If you are really into it keep 8th and 9th May Free. Family and friend activities are being planned for the evening so they will not miss u so much :) . The participants must start to register the registration date and fee will be issued soon.

WFTF World Hungary

Any one interested to participate on his own account in the WFTF World in Hungary must contact at once the MAAC Committee.
We will start to organize our self for this even asap.

Total costing per person is in the region of Euro 900 per person.

MAAC new Investments for the Club

Gents your membership fee and attendance fees are there to provide the members with the necessities required to improve our shooting skills and the quality of our activities.

This month the MAAC Committee decided the release the following investments plus additional maintenance to existing equipment.

10 X New FT Targets with Reducer plates.

4 X New Wooden standard benches for Bench Rest.

8 X Stools for Wooden Benches

4 X new Wooden tops for the metal benches

30 X Shooting Timers for FT / HFT

8 X Metal Target Support Stands for BR

We expect the delivery of these items within the coming weeks prior to the Nationals in BR and FT.

I would like to thank also those members who gave their time as service to the club to provide the required maintenance on the existing equipment to reduce the cost for the club.

We would like to inform all member that FT Nationals and BR Nationals will have great prizes for the top shooters and hence we would like to see a major participation. We would also like to see those members who do not intend to participate giving a helping hand to the success of these events.

Let me remind you that at least two shooters that qualify from the FT nationals will be winning and air thicket to participate the the WFTF Worlds next September 2010 in Hungary. The top 3 shooters in the BR Nationals will win decent prizes too.
